Learning about Scottish Easter Traditions at Crathes Castle
For the second year in a row, Ukrainian children had the delightful opportunity to immerse themselves in a cherished Scottish tradition, celebrating Easter with an Easter Hunt. This year, the enchanting Crathes Castle in Banchory was chosen as the venue for this joyous event, held on March 30th. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of volunteers and the National Trust for Scotland, the children were able to fully engage with the Easter spirit. They excitedly participated in the egg hunt, discovering hidden treasures and receiving prizes and chocolate eggs. The day was filled with laughter as they jumped on bouncy castle and played on the castle's playground. The favourable weather allowed for a grand picnic, where everyone enjoyed a delightful spread in the beautiful castle grounds. The event was made even more special with the transportation of 80 Ukrainian children and 15 volunteer teachers in two buses, ensuring a memorable experience for all. This event not only celebrated Easter but also highlighted the warmth and generosity of the local community in welcoming and supporting Ukrainian families.
